Quick way to view the most current version of a house or senate bill by its number:

·        Go to www.lsb.state.ok.us

·        Look at the three columns (House, Legislative Information System and Senate), focus on the middle one and choose the Status of Measures link.

·        When the page comes up, look on the left column for your next choice.  Click on Basic Search Form.  When this page appears, type in the bill number you are checking on in the white box below Measure Number(s) (eg. hb1017 or sb 1792 – no spaces between the letters and the bill number).  Under the title Session select 2007 Regular Session.  Then click on Retrieve.

·        The History of the legislation will appear (which at this stage of session will be limited to giving a link to the Introduced version, giving the Short Title, listing the author(s), listing the subjects – for purposes of searching for other measures with this subject, giving the section of law it pertains to, and then listing chronologically any action taken on the bill.  Once session gets underway and bills are passing out of committee, being heard on the floor, going to the opposite house for consideration, this feature yields the most comprehensive, concise view of what has happened to the bill including votes and addition or deletion of authors).

·        Click on the Introduced link to view the text of the measure.  New this session is the display of bills in letter size – you won’t have to go searching for long paper when you print a bill!
